Half Group Task (HGT)

[ The short answer ]

The GTO divides the entire group into smaller subgroups. The subgroups are then taken to the Half Group Task (HGT) ground. Before the HGT begins, the GTO explains the rules and procedures of the task clearly to each subgroup.

Like the PGT, this task also includes some helping materials and a heavy object. The Half Group Task (HGT) is essentially a shorter version of the PGT. There is only one stage in this task. However, the working procedure and rules of this test are the same as those of the PGT. Since the allotted time is shorter, the subgroup has to complete the task quickly by working together.

Through this test, candidates are assessed on their practical problem-solving ability, teamwork and cooperation, ability to develop and implement practical strategies, physical capability, and physical activity.

Since the time is limited, it is very important to make quick and effective decisions and to implement them collectively.

Preparation Guidelines

  • Develop the mindset of working in small groups.
  • Practise planning and implementing strategies within a limited time.
  • Develop the habit of working actively and maintaining physical readiness.
  • Maintain self-confidence and a positive attitude.
  • Complete the task by using your presence of mind and cooperating with other team members.
